Experience counts in speechwriting: I have over 45 years as military, corporate and consultant (freelance) speechwriter which includes:

Five years as a military speech writer writing for the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Army (Wrote two speeches for President Ford) -- these included 98 graduation speeches.

Twelve years as a corporate speech writer, writing for the chairmen and CEOs of the following corporations: National Steel, PNC Financial Corp, First Union Corporation (now Wachovia) and NCNB Corporation (now Bank of America ). In these positions wrote a total of 70 graduation speeches.

Speeches Chosen for "Vital Speeches of the Day": "Vital Speeches of the Day" is a monthly publication that publishes what are considered as the best speeches of the day. Over the past 20 years, I have had twenty-nine speeches published in this "best of the best" publication. Fifteen of these speeches were graduation speeches.
