Dynamics of a CEO Presentation to Security Analysts: For several reasons, one of the most difficult and challenging presentations any CEO or chairman of a corporation makes is a presentation to security analysts:
- Security analysts are most often quite expert in the industry;
- Security analysts are often senior followers of an industry;
- Security analysts have a vested self-interest in listening to every word the CEO says and they often record the presentations;
- The Analysts evaluation of the company can -- and often does -- change with a Security Analyst Presentation;
- The price of the stock of the company can be significantly impacted by the evaluation of security analysts;
- The reputation of the CEO or chairman can be made or ruined by one bad presentation or by making inaccurate statements; and
- Every fact is often challenged.
New York Society of Security Analysts: In my corporate career, I have written about 10 presentations to security analysts -- two of which were major audio/visual presentations to the New York Society of Security Analysts in New York City. At those presentations, my company.
- Used two slide projectors, for which I prepared the slides;
- Had a 20-page handout, which I and the CFO wrote; and,
- The company's presentations were given by three presenters, for whom I wrote or helped write their presentations and designed their slides, under the guidance of the CFO
